Troubleshooting and support
Find missing tools, check imports, and describe an issue clearly.
Updated 21 October 2026 · Steps describe the prepared Windows apps. Options vary by document mode.
The tools are missing
Press Ctrl+F1 to show the ribbon, or choose an editing tab. Use Ribbon → Full ribbon to restore tool labels. In Folio, press F8 again if you entered Focus mode.
Use Ctrl+Shift+P to search available commands. Some tools apply only to selected text, cells or objects; some are protected for imported Word files to preserve their original structure.
I cannot find a saved file
Check File → Open in the app where you created it. Folio, Ledger and Stage have separate libraries. Choose Browse this computer… if you exported a file to a folder instead.
A taskbar recent item points to an app’s saved entry; it is not an independent backup. If the item is no longer available, open the app and use File → Open.
An imported file looks different
Keep the original file unchanged. Check whether the required fonts are installed, whether the content uses advanced Office features, and whether the page size and zoom match your expectations.
Folio’s imported Word editing area is designed to retain source styles and centered pages, but the complete Word layout engine is not included. Ledger and Stage also support a subset of their Office counterparts. Review exports in their destination apps before sharing.
Send support a description of the change: font, page, image, table or formula; the import/export format; and the steps that reproduce it. Share a small non-confidential sample only if you choose to.
A large file opens slowly
Large files with many images or pages take longer to parse and render. Let the first open finish before opening it again. A saved local Word view can make later opens faster. Opening speed depends on file complexity, available memory and storage; instant opening is not guaranteed.
