FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers, without the guesswork.

About the apps, your files and the planned KeepSuite release.

Does $5 cover all three apps?

The proposed launch offer is $5 USD total for Folio, Ledger and Stage, paid once. Any applicable taxes will be shown before payment. This preview does not take payments.

Will I be able to buy directly or on Gumroad?

Both routes are being prepared: direct checkout for Haidar Consulting, LLC through Stripe, and a separate KeepSuite listing on Gumroad. The bundle price is $5 USD once before any applicable taxes. Neither channel is open for live purchases yet. See purchase options.

Is there a subscription?

No subscription is planned for the purchased app versions. Optional external AI services may charge separately. Future major upgrades, unlimited support and cloud credits are not included promises.

Can I use KeepSuite for personal and business work?

Yes, the prepared license allows personal and business use. Your documents remain yours. Software ownership, redistribution and device limits are described in the license and purchase terms.

Can I buy or download the public release now?

Not yet. Checkout, publisher signing and production activation are still being prepared.

Are these three separate apps?

Yes. Folio, Ledger and Stage each have their own desktop icon, window and saved library. They do not require opening a shared launcher.

Which computers are supported?

The prepared builds target Windows 11 on Intel/AMD 64-bit (x64) computers, with about 3 GB free for apps and installation files. Mac, Linux, Chromebook and ARM builds are not included. Ollama models have additional requirements.

How will purchase codes and device limits work?

The planned customer release verifies a purchase code online during installation, including reinstallation. One purchase is planned to cover two computers. Production activation and recovery instructions will be confirmed before sales open. Local editing is intended to work offline after activation.

Do I need internet access to edit?

Ordinary editing and local saving work offline. Downloads, planned customer activation and cloud AI need internet access. Local Ollama can work offline after the model is installed, provided the chosen model/service runs locally.

Where is my work saved?

Each app saves a separate working library on this computer. Use Export to create native .folio, .ledger or .stage backups in a folder you control. There is no automatic KeepSuite cloud backup. See backups and recovery.

How do I open an existing file?

Choose File → Open for saved work in that app, or Browse this computer… to select a file from a folder. Ctrl+O opens the app’s Open workflow. See opening files.

Will Word, Excel and PowerPoint files look exactly the same?

Exact compatibility is not guaranteed. The apps support common DOCX, XLSX and PPTX content, but complex layouts and advanced features can differ or be unsupported. Keep the original and a native backup, and review exports before sharing.

Can I edit Word files directly in Folio?

Imported DOCX pages open in the editing area, with the original package retained. Supported text and formatting edits can be applied there; unsupported structural operations are protected. Microsoft Word’s complete pagination engine is not included. See the Folio guide.

Is a PDF a complete editing backup?

No. A PDF is useful for fixed reading or printing. Keep a native .folio, .ledger or .stage file for continued editing, plus the original imported Office file when relevant.

Where are the light, dark and Black & Gray themes?

Click Theme beside Ribbon, choose Light or Dark, then a color. The neutral dark option is Black & Gray. Choices are remembered per app. See themes and colors.

Do app themes change my document colors?

No. App themes change the controls around your work. Document themes, paper backgrounds, table styles and slide themes are separate tools that change the work itself.

How do I show the ribbon again?

Press Ctrl+F1, choose an editing tab, or use Ribbon → Full ribbon. Ctrl+Alt+K switches full/compact tools. In Folio, F8 also toggles Focus mode. See ribbon controls.

How do I add margins, headers or decorative borders?

For Folio-created documents, use Layout for page setup/margins and Design for headers, footers and page borders. Imported Word files may protect structural tools to retain the original layout. See page setup and border art.

Do I have to use AI?

No. All three editors can be used without it. AI models and paid provider usage are optional and are not included in the bundle price.

Can I use the Ollama models already installed on my computer?

Yes. Run Ollama, open AI assistant → Settings, choose the local Ollama provider and an installed model. Settings are separate in each app. See the Ollama instructions.

Can I add my own API key?

Yes, supported providers can be configured in the desktop app’s AI settings. Requests send the prompt and included context to that provider, whose charges and privacy terms apply. Do not enter API keys on this help website.

Are documents uploaded automatically?

Ordinary local editing does not upload them to KeepSuite. Choosing a remote AI provider, sharing an export, or placing a file in a synced folder sends data to the destination you choose. See privacy notes.

Is there a community forum or support account?

This website provides help guides and an FAQ. It does not have a community forum or require a support account. You can contact support@hcus.llc.

How should I report a problem?

Include the app/version, your Windows version, what you expected, what happened and the steps to reproduce it. Remove private details from screenshots and sample files. Never send passwords, API keys or full payment details. See contacting support.

Why does a large document take time to open?

Large files with many pages and images need time to parse and render. Performance depends on file complexity, memory and storage. Let the first open finish; a saved local Word view can speed up later opens. See performance help.
